Aloha, Donald: Trump wins Hawaii

Donald Trump cruised to yet another easy victory Wednesday morning, and scored his 15th electoral win by taking the Republican caucuses in Hawaii.

With 100 percent of the vote in, Trump won 42.4 percent, and Ted Cruz won 32.7 percent. Marco Rubio was a distant third with 13.2 percent.

The billionaire’s triumph in the Aloha State, which helps solidify his first-place status in the race to secure Republican Party’s nomination, comes after he was declared the winner earlier Tuesday evening in GOP election battles in Michigan and Mississippi.

However, even with the three wins tucked under his belt, Trump still missed out on one state Tuesday, as Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, thumped the casino tycoon in the Idaho Republican primary.

It was Cruz’s only victory for the evening.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Ohio Gov. John Kasich meanwhile failed to claim any of the four states up for grabs.

With his electoral victories this week, Trump continues to amass far more delegates than any of the other GOP candidates.

The Hawaii Republican caucuses is worth 19 delegates, and will lift Trump’s current total of 446 up a notch.

Cruz meanwhile has 347 delegates. Rubio has only 151, and Kasich has a mere 54, according to the New York Times.

A GOP candidate needs a total of 1,237 delegates to the win the party’s nomination.
