The CIA will begin airing recruiting advertisements on video streaming services for the first time ever, the spy agency announced Monday.
The ad launch comes as more U.S. citizens are at home during the coronavirus pandemic and spending more time streaming TV shows and movies.
“Since becoming director, I prioritized how, where, and whom we recruit to be the next generation of CIA officers. Advertising on streaming services is an important step forward to reach talented Americans with the diversity of experiences we require to continue to be the world’s premier intelligence service,” CIA Director Gina Haspel said in a news release.
The ad will air in 90-second, 60-second, and 15-second versions, and it is expected to run at least the next couple of weeks on video platforms that allow advertising.
