Former Clinton press secretary says he’s ‘rethinking’ wishing Rush Limbaugh well in his fight against cancer

A White House press secretary under former President Bill Clinton’s administration said he’s considering rescinding the good wishes he sent to Rush Limbaugh amid the conservative radio host’s fight against stage 4 cancer.

“Several months ago I tweeted well wishes to Rush Limbaugh on his health fight. I’m rethinking that tweet this morning,” CNN political analyst Joe Lockhart tweeted Monday morning.

Limbaugh is currently fighting advanced lung cancer, which he announced in February.

“But it is what it is. And you know me, I’m the mayor of Realville,” Limbaugh said when he announced the diagnosis. “My intention is to come here every day I can. And to do this program as normally [as usual].”

Lockhart first referenced Limbaugh in another tweet on Monday that said, “Will any Republican repudiate Rush Limbaugh today. How about all you women in the Senate. Is this ok with you? @VP ask mother if this is ok.”

On Friday during his syndicated radio show, Limbaugh discussed the firing of NBA photographer Bill Baptist after he shared a meme of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s running mate.

“[He] posted an image that read ‘Joe and the Hoe,’ h-o-e. Now, what do you think that’s about, Joe and the hoe?” Limbaugh said of the meme.

He also discussed an article from the American Spectator titled, “Why It Should Matter to Women That Kamala Harris Slept Her Way Up.”

“Whoa! You know what that’s about? That’s about Willie Brown. Willie Brown, the former speaker [of the] California assembly, former mayor San Francisco,” Limbaugh said. “He’s 31 years older than she is, and he was her mentor. And he has been open about the fact they had an affair while he was married. He’s been very open about the fact that the affair they had is what boosted her up. He has written about the affair. He’s been very open and upfront about it.”

Biden announced Harris as his running mate last Tuesday, lauding her as “a fearless fighter for the little guy and one of the country’s finest public servants.”

Back when Kamala was attorney general, she worked closely with Beau,” said Biden, referring to his late son. “I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse. I was proud then, and I’m proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign.”
