Scott Baio: America not about ‘getting free stuff’

Former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio warned younger voters Monday night that America is about hard work, winning and losing, and not about getting free stuff.

“America is an easy place to get to,” he told the crowd at the Republican National Convention. “But, for you first time voters, it’s important to know what it means to be an American.”

“It doesn’t mean getting free stuff,” he said. “It means sacrificing, winning, losing, failing, succeeding.”

Baio said the country is in a “bad spot” today, and said, “We need Donald Trump to fix this.”

“Is he a messiah?” he asked. “No, he’s just a man. A man who wants to give back to his country, America.”

Baio said he trusted Trump with the safety of his own family.

“I can’t tell you how much of an honor it is to talk about a man I trust with the lives of my family and the health of our country, America, the greatest country God created,” he said.
