Thousands of customers are reporting outages with T-Mobile, which it claimed are the result of a “voice and data issue.”
Reports of the widespread outages were registered Monday with tracking service Down Detector, peaking around 3 p.m. at about 100,000 reports.
“Our engineers are working to resolve a voice and data issue that has been affecting customers around the country. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have this fixed shortly,” said Neville Ray, president of technology for T-Mobile.
Ray later added that issues were beginning to be resolved, although he did not elaborate on what caused the outages.
“Teams continue to work as quickly as possible to fix the voice & messaging problems some are seeing. Data services are now available & some calls are completing. Alternate services like WhatsApp, Signal, iMessage, Facetime etc. are available. Thanks for your patience,” he tweeted.

Users of other major service providers also reported outages. However, both AT&T and Verizon said their networks were operating without internal issues when contacted by the Washington Examiner. A spokesperson at Verizon said that issues people are reporting on outage aggregation websites such as Down Detector might be related to problems customers are having while trying to communicate with T-Mobile.
“Verizon’s network is performing well. We’re aware that another carrier is having network issues. Calls to and from that carrier may receive an error message,” the spokesperson said.
This is a developing story.
