Trump claims ‘fantastic’ relationship with Rod Rosenstein: Report

President Trump says his relationship with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is on the mend, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“It’s fantastic,” Trump told the paper through a spokesman about his rapport with Rosenstein. “We have a great relationship. Make sure you tell them that.”

In the past, Rosenstein has taken the brunt of Trump’s annoyance with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.

Rosenstein was the one who approved the FBI raids of Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen’s home, office, and hotel room, where over a hundred audiotapes were recovered.

The Journal reported that Trump and Rosenstein now speak at least once or twice a week, usually when Trump calls him on his cellphone to discuss issues such as immigration, a person familiar with the matter said.

Officials also confirmed that Rosenstein visits the White House about three times each week to meet with either Trump or his chief of staff John Kelly.
