New Zealanders are showing out en masse against coronavirus mandates, using their most traditional dance to demonstrate their frustration.
A group of protesters outside of Parliament House in Wellington performed the haka, an indigenous chant and dance typically seen at funerals, weddings, and sporting events.

They waved New Zealand flags and flags that represent the country’s United Tribes.

New Zealanders have criticized Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for what they deem as overly restrictive coronavirus policies.
Thousands of activists reportedly demonstrated while unmasked near Parliament on Tuesday, specifically against vaccination mandates and government lockdowns. The building’s entrances were blocked off as a security precaution, according to Reuters.

There were even signs spotted in favor of former U.S. President Donald Trump, who repeatedly decried lockdowns and restrictive coronavirus policies, although he is not anti-vaccination.
