Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell will unveil his amendments for the 2011-2012 state budget Friday, and indicated Tuesday that state employees will likely face lean times in the near future.
McDonnell said at a town hall meeting for state employees that there will be no pay raises and employees will be asked to pay part of contributions to the Virginia Retirement System, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.
At the same time, there will be no furloughs in the budget amendments and health insurance premiums won’t go up, he said.
