WASHINGTON (AP) — The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History is opening a three-day film festival featuring Clint Eastwood’s Westerns.
The series running through Sunday includes movie discussions and free screenings in the museum’s Warner Bros. Theater.
On Saturday, the festival features a 1 p.m. public discussion about the movie “The Outlaw Josey Wales,” followed by a 2 p.m. screening. In the film, Eastwood plays a Missouri farmer who joins a Confederate guerrilla unit in the Civil War and winds up on the run from Union soldiers who murdered his family.
Admission is free on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Also Saturday, the museum will show the documentary “The Eastwood Factor.”
On Sunday, the museum is showing “Pale Rider.” Eastwood plays a preacher protecting a village from a greedy mining company.
