County workers are doing a “pothole and litter blitz” in Prince George’s County, according to the Department of Public Works and Transportation.
Workers will survey every county-maintained roadway, according to a news release, to identify and repair potholes damaged by cold temperatures and salt spread during snowstorms. Litter and illegally-posted signs will also be removed from roads.
“If not reported and repaired, potholes have the potential to damage vehicles and to cause structural damage to the roadway infrastructure,” the release says. “When there is structural damage and an entire roadway section has to be repaired, the cost to taxpayers dramatically increases.”
