HONOLULU (AP) — Residents of Kalaupapa will have access to broadband Internet service for the first time.
U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye says Oceanic Time Warner Cable has extended its fiber network down the peninsula.
The Hawaii Democrat says the service will help improve the quality of life for those who live and work in the remote community.
Service is expected to start on Independence Day. Oceanic will contact residents with information about the new services.
