Matt Mowers has a commanding lead over his GOP rivals in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District primary, according to a fresh poll.
In a survey for the New Hampshire Journal, Mowers was out in front with 31%, followed by Karoline Leavitt at 16%, Tim Baxter at 9%, and, trailing in fourth with 8%, Gail Huff Brown, wife of former Massachusetts GOP Sen. Scott Brown.

However, 33% of Republican primary voters said they were undecided, and with the New Hampshire primary still four weeks away, there is plenty of time for movement in this race.
“What these numbers also show is that Republican voters have a generally favorable view of the entire field,” said Ryan Munce, president and CEO of pollster co/efficient. The poll surveyed 829 likely GOP primary voters Aug. 13-14 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
Mowers, who previously worked in the Trump White House, was the nominee against Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH) in 2020 and could be benefiting both from name recognition from that contest as well as the endorsement he received from the former president. Huff Brown, the other big name in this primary, is a former television news anchor whose husband was ousted in 2012 by now-Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
Two years later, Scott Brown ran for Senate in New Hampshire, losing to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D). A few years after that, Trump appointed him to be U.S. ambassador to New Zealand, where he was joined by his wife, Huff Brown.

Editor’s Note: A prior version of this article stated that former President Donald Trump had endorsed Mowers. Although Mowers received the former president’s endorsement in 2020, Trump has not endorsed him for the 2022 cycle. The Washington Examiner regrets the error.
