Gallery Imperato will display a solo exhibition featuring the work of photographer Carlos Tarrats through Jan. 24. In his new body of work, the artist moves away from landscapes and focuses more on the idea of the portrait. Commonly mistaken as digitally manipulated imagery, Tarrats constructs elaborate sets with a variety of props and materials. With a medium-format camera, he photographs the sets through sheets of Plexiglass. Gallery Imperato is located at 921 E. Fort Ave. in Baltimore. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment Sunday and Monday. For more information, visit galleryimperato.com.
