Police in New York City are searching for a man who they say attacked a 73-year-old woman at a subway station.
The New York Police Department says an unknown suspect punched a 73-year-old woman in the face Wednesday evening at a Bronx subway station, sending her to the hospital for pain and swelling, according to CBS 2 New York.
The suspect ran away down a set of stairs following the attack, and police are asking for the public’s help in order to apprehend him.
The attack comes the same week a man was arrested for allegedly punching a 92-year-old woman in New York City’s Gramercy Park neighborhood, knocking her to the ground.
Police have a suspect in custody in a random attack on a 92-year-old woman in Manhattan, and the victim is speaking out about her harrowing ordeal. “I’m frightened to tears,” she said. “I’m not going to walk there on my own, and it’s very upsetting.” https://t.co/Lex8eO5XWJ pic.twitter.com/5i6ysIJHrA

That man, Rashid Brimmage, has a rap sheet of more than 100 arrests, including three this year, after which he was released back onto the streets.
The two incidents are reminiscent of the “knockout game” which gained popularity in the 2010s, when individuals would approach random strangers and attempt to knock them out with one punch many times, resulting in a viral social media post.
