CNN’s sign at its Atlanta headquarters was vandalized by protesters angered over the death of George Floyd earlier this week.
Photos and videos circulated on social media show a large crowd near the sign and unintelligible graffiti spray-painted on the sign.
“Protestors climbed atop the @CNN sign outside the network’s HQ in Atlanta, CNN Center, and spray painted messages on the sign,” CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter tweeted.
Local journalists also shared photos and videos of the sign and the crowd around it.

Large, violent protests broke out across the country following the death of Floyd on Monday. Floyd, a black man, died after white Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin restrained him by placing his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
Chauvin and three other officers involved in Floyd’s detainment were fired on Tuesday. Chauvin was taken into custody on Friday and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
