Republican Rep. Steve King says President Trump should give more credit to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who Trump criticized Wednesday for recusing himself from the investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election.
“No one in America can match the excellence of @JeffSessions as Attorney General. Trump agenda would be crippled w/o him,” the Iowa lawmaker tweeted at Trump late Wednesday.

Trump complained to the New York Times in an interview Wednesday that he would have picked someone else for the top job at the Department of Justice if he had known Sessions would recuse himself from the investigation, which led to the appointment of a special counsel.
ABC News reported in early June that Sessions considered resigning as tensions flared with Trump.
