Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is claiming that she “was swatted” at around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Teasing that additional details will be forthcoming, Greene thanked local law enforcement in Floyd County, Georgia. “Swatting” is a harassment technique in which callers contact law enforcement to report an emergency situation to dispatch them to an innocent person’s address.

Someone using a computer-generated voice made the call to the City of Rome Police Department and claimed a person had been shot multiple times at the address of Greene’s Rome City home, according to a press release from the department.
“She assured the officers there was no issue and the call was determined to be a false call commonly known as ‘swatting,’” the statement said.
Here’s the Rome Police Department statement about this incident. They say they got a second call from someone “using a computer generated voice stating that he/she was upset about Mrs. Greene’s political view on transgender youth rights.”https://t.co/oA7jd16RcS pic.twitter.com/Z6ld60xhXN

During a second call, the person voiced anger at Greene’s position on “transgender youth rights,” per the release. Greene recently introduced a bill titled the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” that would ban the use of gender-affirming medical for minors.
Police have not identified a suspect and said that the investigation is ongoing. The caller indicated he or she had ties to Kiwi Farms, a right-wing group accused of engaging in swatting, according to a copy of the police report obtained by the Daily Dot.
“The Rome Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is working in conjunction with the Capital Police on this investigation,” the statement continued.

Greene has been an unabashed supporter of former President Donald Trump and has been an outspoken supporter of the “Make America Great Again” brand of conservatism.
Recently, she called to defund the FBI in the wake of the search and seizure at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort earlier this month.
