President Trump told reporters he will be submitting the questions he answered to special counsel Robert Mueller next week.
“No, we do that next week,” Trump told the press Saturday when asked about whether he submitted his answers yet, as he was leaving for a trip to California related to the wildfires that have claimed the lives of more than 70 people. “They’re all done.”
On Friday, Trump said that he had just finished drafting his written answers to Mueller’s questions on Trump and his associates in relation to the special counsel investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election.
“I’ve answered them very easily,” Trump told reporters Friday in the Oval Office. “You always have to be careful answering questions for people who probably have bad intentions.”
The president also said that he was the one who wrote the answers, not his legal team.
“They were my answers, you don’t need lawyers to do that,” Trump said. “They were not very difficult questions.”
