White House press secretary Jen Psaki bristled when needled over Fox News access to President Joe Biden after the network wasn’t on a list of outlets to be called on during Biden’s first stand-alone news conference.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy confronted Psaki during her Friday briefing on his network’s omission from the list. Doocy claimed Fox News has been the only major network excluded during the campaign, the transition, and now at the White House.

Doocy replied with a qualified “yes,” but he added that Biden had only responded to him shouting at the president after he had worked through his list of preapproved outlets.
Psaki then cited her two appearances on Fox News Sunday, including an interview this weekend.
“I would say that I’m always happy to have this conversation with you, even about your awesome socks you’re having on today, you’re wearing today,” she said.
Doocy grumbled Thursday about not being called on during Biden’s first press conference, thumbing through a briefing folder he’d prepared especially for the event on live TV. His grievances were echoed by some of his colleagues.

On Friday, though, Psaki answered his questions regarding the conflict between Biden’s description of the Senate filibuster as a relic of Jim Crow-era segregation laws with his past statements in support of the procedure that protects minority party rights in the chamber.
“It is not being used for the intended purpose. It is being abused,” she said.
