Trump slams Jimmy Fallon for not being ‘a man’ after hair interview

President Trump demanded late night host Jimmy Fallon “be a man” on Sunday after multiple reports that Fallon regrets ruffling the hair of the then-presidential candidate in an interview before the 2016 election, despite Trump’s claims Fallon called him shortly after the appearance to say the pair earned “monster ratings.”

“.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous ‘hair show’ with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have ‘humanized’ me-he is taking heat,” Trump wrote on Twitter Sunday. “He called & said ‘monster ratings.’ Be a man Jimmy!”

Fallon has said in multiple interviews that he wishes he handled the exchange differently after inviting Trump to be a guest on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” in Sep. 2016.

“I did not do it to ‘normalize’ him or to say I believe in his political beliefs or any of that stuff,” Fallon told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published last week.

Fallon has since waded into politics more frequently, thanking graduating Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students during a surprise commencement speech in May for their anti-gun advocacy after a shooting in February.

Fallon responded to Trump’s tweet late Sunday, announcing he would be giving money to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, which has been offering support to migrants affected by Trump’s zero tolerance policy toward illegal immigration.
