Amy Schumer said she was “still triggered and traumatized” from her Sunday night Oscars hosting gig in an Instagram post early Wednesday morning. She cited the most-discussed incident of the night, Will Smith’s slap, and emphasized her love for fellow comedian Chris Rock.
“Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed,” she wrote. Schumer added that “the whole thing was so disturbing.”
“So much pain in @willsmith anyway I’m still in shock and stunned and sad,” she said.
Schumer further expressed her love for Rock, saying that “he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend @questlove.”
Rock laughed off Smith’s slap after the altercation, delivering an Oscar for best documentary, seemingly unphased.

Despite her anxiety over the event, she said, “Im proud of myself and my cohosts.” She even plugged her Hulu series Life and Beth, telling fans: “I think we can all agree that the best way to unpack what happened is to stream my series @lifeandbethhulu and see me on tour this fall.”
Smith issued an apology Monday after he struck the comedian on the live broadcast for making a joke about his wife’s alopecia.
“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong,” he said, adding that he was embarrassed.
Late Sunday evening, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed it was launching an investigation into the incident.
