President Trump touted his first trip abroad as “hard work” with “big results” after getting back to Washington, D.C., earlier this weekend from Europe.
“Just returned from Europe. Trip was a great success for America. Hard work but big results!” Trump tweeted.

Trump, who has been uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter this week, returned Saturday from the G7 conference in Sicily after spending a few days in Brussels at a meeting of NATO allies.
Administration officials believe Trump’s trip abroad is one of the biggest successes of his presidency to date. Much of the president’s statements during his time abroad focused on working with allies to eliminate terrorism threats and getting those same allies to increase their defense spending.
Trump made a few speeches while abroad but is one of the only world leaders who didn’t have a press conference in either Brussels or Sicily.
During his trip, Trump became the first sitting president to visit the holy sites of all three major religions. He started off going to Saudi Arabia, where he made a speech to Muslims around the world, and then went to Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, traditionally the site of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.
He then went to Rome to meet the pope before traveling to Brussels and Sicily.
