THE DAILY OUTRAGE: Taxpayers’ boat to China

Who: Department of Commerce

What: Gave a $15,000 grant to the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber in Pennsylvania to send four people on a 16-day trip to China and Taiwan to stress the availability of plant sites and workers to Chinese companies and government officials.

Why it’s an outrage: If these factories are so intent on carrying Chinese products, why aren’t they footing the bill for their own travel costs?

Where to vent: Call Gary W. Johnson, director of the Department’s Grants Management Division, at 202-482-1679.
