CHICAGO (AP) — A 40-year-old northeastern Illinois man faces federal charges of illegally selling guns from his store and residence.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago says a grand jury this week returned a six-count against Patrick Sean Keiran of Elwood. Prosecutors say Keiran has operated the American Choice Firearms and Ammo store in Gardner.
He’s accused of selling nearly a dozen guns to an undercover agent posing as a felon and to a convicted felon cooperating with authorities. The guns included eight 9-mm handguns and a.38 caliber revolver.
The charges against him include selling firearms to an individual he had reason to believe was a convicted felon and selling firearms without recording the name, age, and residence of the purchaser.
A message seeking comment from Keiran’s federal defender wasn’t immediately returned Friday.
