Actor Cuba Gooding Jr., star of “Jerry Maguire,” turned himself over to police custody despite video his lawyer says will exonerate him from groping allegations.
“There is not the slightest scintilla of inappropriate conduct on his part,” Gooding’s lawyer Mark Heller told the Associated Press.
Gooding, 51, surrendered Thursday to the New York Police Department’s special victims division.
Heller told TMZ that he had security video that shows “absolutely no criminality taking place on the part of my client” and was surprised that police were acting on the claims against his client.
A 29-year-old woman claimed Gooding had grabbed her breast Sunday at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge in New York City.
A second woman has come out claiming Gooding grabbed her butt at another Manhattan bar in 2008.
