There is a hot market for wings.
Americans are expected to enjoy more than 1.42 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday as the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams compete for the Lombardi Trophy, according to a report from the National Chicken Council.

“Restaurants like wing joints and pizza places were built around takeout and delivery, and as long as people are sitting around watching TV and maybe drinking a beer, wings will remain in the game,” NCC spokesman Tom Super said.
Super added that there will be “no wing shortage” but encouraged consumers not to wait until kickoff to buy their wings.
Retail wing prices are approximately $0.30 higher per pound on average from the same time last year due to higher demand and labor shortages, among other factors, according to the report.
The report found that despite higher average prices, there is more supply than last year. The end-of-December frozen wing inventory was up 70% from last year.
According to an Instacart survey conducted by The Harris Poll, one in 25 customers purchased chicken wings for their Super Bowl order last year.
Chips also dominate Super Bowl viewing parties, with 99% of respondents saying they plan to eat chips of some kind while watching the game.
