Arizona murder suspect escapes at Atlanta airport

A man accused of murder escaped from police custody at Atlanta’s airport. He was apprehended Friday morning, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Jssan Carlos Strover, 20, got away from two Maricopa County deputies who had removed his leg restraints so he could walk down a flight of steps on Thursday morning, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He is wanted in Maricopa County, Arizona, on charges of first-degree murder, attempt to commit first-degree murder, and aggravated assault. Strover was arrested on April 12, and the deputies were supposed to transport him to Arizona.

“At the time, there were two Maricopa County deputies with him,” Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat told reporters. “At the point that they proceeded out, they removed the leg restraints to escort him down the steps, and at that point, he pushed past them.”

Strover was last seen entering the woods wearing a white T-shirt, black sweatpants, and a navy blue jacket. He has a tattoo on his neck that says: “Risk,” and police consider him dangerous. Police said he was shackled at the waist and handcuffed in front of his body when he got away from the deputies.
