After almost four decades, a long-awaited sequel to A Christmas Story starring Ralphie actor Peter Billingsley is coming to theaters, according to a report.

Billingsley is in talks to produce the film and star in it, the report noted.
Warner Bros. and Legendary are reportedly backing the project, and the title for the film is A Christmas Story Christmas.
Other names involved in the project are director Clay Kaytis, scriptwriter Nick Schenk, and actor/producer Vince Vaughn, the report noted.
A Christmas Story told the story of a boy, Ralphie, and his desire for a Red Ryder BB gun, despite constant warnings that he’ll shoot his eye out.
The film is regarded by many to be a Christmas classic.

It was set in the 1940s Midwest, and the sequel is said to be set in the 1970s, according to the report.
