Donald Trump’s campaign set a record Wednesday for most funds ever raised in one day.
The Republican nominee took in $3.5 million from online fundraising. Trump’s campaign claimed the huge 24-hour haul was largely a result of a Wednesday night speech by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Trump’s running mate.
“Governor Pence has ignited the passion of grassroots conservatives with his record of creating jobs, and enacting conservative reforms which have turned Indiana into a model for the rest of the country,” the Trump campaign said in a statement Thursday evening.
The billionaire businessman’s campaign has added more than 750,000 new donors since the online fundraising platform was launched approximately a month ago.
