Applicants for SSDI must submit medical records to be eligible for disability benefits. A disability is defined by the administration as something that inhibits one’s ability to carry out job responsibilities and the length of time in which the disability has affected the candidate. Therefore, those with short-term or partial disabilities are not qualified for SSDI benefits.
