The Los Angeles Police Department arrested rapper A$AP Rocky, otherwise known as Rakim Mayers, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Wednesday morning.
A$AP Rocky, 33, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport as he returned from a trip to Barbados, where he spent time with his pregnant girlfriend Rihanna.
The alleged assault took place on Nov 6, 2021, in the Hollywood area after an argument, per the Los Angeles Police Department.

“The argument escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim,” police reported. “The victim sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought his medical treatment. Following the shooting, the suspect and two additional males fled the area on foot.”
This is A$AP Rocky’s second run-in with the law in recent memory. A$AP Rocky was charged with assault in Sweden after his involvement in a physical street fight between members of his entourage and multiple other men.
He and two accomplices were convicted and jailed for a suspended sentence that ultimately allowed them all to return to the United States. A$AP Rocky had to pay more than $1,000 in damages, but he didn’t have to spend any more time behind bars as he had already served a month before being sentenced, according to a report.

Rihanna has yet to make a public statement, and her publicist did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
