White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters not “every single Afghan” who wants to be evacuated by the United States and its allies will be able to.
Psaki briefed reporters Thursday evening after President Joe Biden delivered national remarks addressing the terror attacks at the Kabul airport earlier in the day that killed 12 U.S. service members.

During that speech, Biden committed to continuing the humanitarian evacuation after a total troop withdrawal by Tuesday and vowed to sign off on whatever the U.S. military needs to hunt down the ISIS-K leaders responsible for planning Thursday’s attacks and make them “pay.”
“It is not going to be possible for every single Afghan, millions potentially, who want to leave Afghanistan to be evacuated,” Psaki said in response to a question from the Associated Press. “At the same time, I think you also heard the president make clear that there is not a deadline.”
“There is not an end to our commitment to getting American citizens out who don’t want — who are not ready to leave and to getting partners out and those who have served alongside the United States over the last twenty years out,” she added.
