‘Legitimate question my a**’: Brit Hume slams NBC reporter ‘bullsh*t gotcha question’ to Trump

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume took aim at NBC’s Peter Alexander for a question he asked President Trump during a press briefing.

“Legitimate question my a**,” Hume said Friday in response to conservative commentator David French, who called the question “legitimate.”

“It was the kind of bullsh*t gotcha question which hack WH reporters have been asking for decades. But instead of going off on the reporter, Trump should have said the whole briefing in all its particulars was a message to people who are scared,” Hume added.

Alexander had asked Trump during the Friday briefing what he would tell people “who are scared” about the coronavirus outbreak.

“I say that you’re a terrible reporter, that’s what I say,” the president responded. “I think that’s a very nasty question, and I think it is a very bad signal that you are putting out to the American people.”

Trump accused Alexander and NBC of producing “really bad reporting” and “sensationalism.” “The American people are looking for answers, and they’re looking for hope, and you’re doing sensationalism,” he said.

The president’s comments were slammed by reporters who defended Alexander. CNN’s John King called Trump’s remark a “bullshit attack.”
