Fox News anchor Shepard Smith issued a humorous warning Wednesday to other White House officials considering taking on U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.
“Just in the event you had spare time, maybe a parasol with a bit of shade available, and you were thinking of putting it on Nikki Haley, don’t do it,” Smith said, shaking his index finger at the same time.
“I say no. I say look at available evidence and decide against it. No shade. Not for Nikki Haley. Don’t do it,” he added.
Smith’s animated warning follows a tense exchange between Haley and White House chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow, who on Tuesday said Haley prematurely announced U.S. sanctions against Russia because of her “momentary confusion.”
Haley on Tuesday issued a terse response: “With all due respect, I don’t get confused.”
Kudlow later apologized for his comments, but added that Haley had incomplete information when she foreshadowed a fresh raft of sanctions.
On Wednesday, Haley downplayed tensions between her and President Trump, and told reporters her relationship with Trump was “perfect,” according to CNN’s Jeff Zeleny.
NEW: @nikkihaley is asked how her relationship is with President Turmp, she says: “It’s perfect” before walking into the UN Security Council Chambers.
