Somebody appears to break wind during Joe Biden campaign stream

Joe Biden might need some Pepto-Bismol next time he goes on camera.

During a digital campaign event with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, it sounded as though somebody broke wind as Biden was in the middle of criticizing Republicans’ response to states teetering on the verge of bankruptcy because of losses of revenue due to the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“[Mitch McConnell] says they should declare bankruptcies if you can. And this isn’t some math exercise. This is about people. It’s about making sure you don’t have to cut those teachers and firefighters, police officers, and cut critical healthcare programs,” the former vice president said before it sounded as though somebody passed some gas. “Or stop work on roads and bridges. So, what does the human cost of lack of state and local fiscal relief look like in Pennsylvania?”

The squeak appeared to invoke a minor grimace and head tilt from Wolf, who proceeded to discuss the issues facing his state and the need for further economic stimulus.

It was not immediately clear who, if anyone, actually cut the cheese, but once the clip hit Twitter, some users began speculating it was Biden.

The incident was reminiscent of an interview that one of Biden’s former Democratic rivals, Rep. Eric Swalwell, went through in November when it sounded as though he passed gas during an interview with MSNBC. He later denied he was responsible for the sound.

“It was not me!!!!!” the California Democrat told a reporter. “Ha. And I didn’t hear it when I was speaking.”

Biden is 78 years old and would be the oldest president in history if he wins in November. President Ronald Reagan was 77 years and 349 days old when he left office. President Trump is 73.
