Tomi Lahren responds to criticism that her freedom-themed clothing line is made in China

Fox News host Tomi Lahren responded to rumors that her new “patriotic” clothing line was being made in China.

“Like many American small business owners, Alexo aims to be Made in America,” Lahren said Friday about the company she partnered with. “We are working towards that.”

Lahren also shared a message from Alexo CEO Amy Robbins explaining why the company currently manufactures their clothes overseas.

“Due to the increased labor costs and heightened regulations many US based manufacturers face we were left with little option but to manufacture overseas to start out,” Robbins said. “We’re working diligently to bring our manufacturing back home to the US and work with other hardworking companies that pride themselves on integrity and quality.”

Lahren, 27, announced last week she was launching an “athleisure line” called “Freedom by Tomi Lahren.”

After the announcement of her clothing line, Andy Lassner, the executive producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, got the hashtag “MadeInChinaTomi” trending with tens of thousands of tweets before Lahren was forced to respond.
