If you are a Florida man, you will soon be able to get a haircut.
A barber in Orlando announced for GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis that Florida will allow its barbershops and salons to open back up on Monday. DeSantis released the announcement Friday afternoon in a video.
“Hello, my name is J. Henry of J. Henry’s Barber Shop … I am happy to join Gov. Ron DeSantis as we reopen barbershops, hair salons, and nail salons,” he said. “We are ready to get back to work and make some money.”
Henry said that while the shops will be allowed to reopen, safety precautions such as wearing gloves and masks will remain in place as Florida begins the gradual process of returning to normalcy.
“I know everyone is happy to come out and support the barbershops, but we want to continue to keep one thing in mind: Safety is always first,” Henry said.

Florida was one of the last large states to shut down during the coronavirus pandemic, which has had almost 40,000 infections and more than 1,600 deaths. The stay-home-order for the state was lifted Monday.
