Morning Joe compares Trump Baghdadi press conference to Saddam Hussein

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough compared President Trump’s press conference, where he announced the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, to Moammar Gadhafi and Saddam Hussein.

Scarborough took issue with the president describing Baghdadi’s final moments, where Trump claimed the terrorist was “whimpering and crying and screaming,” before adding that “he was scared out of his mind” and he “died like a dog,” during the Sunday morning press conference.

On Monday, Morning Joe showed a spliced clip of President Barack Obama announcing the death of Osama bin Laden in 2011 and Trump talking about Baghdadi. The video did not include Trump’s remarks about Baghdadi’s death.

“He sounded not like a president of the United States. He actually sounded like Saddam Hussein after torturing people. He sounded like Muammar Ghadafi after he would torture people,” the morning show host said.

Scarborough went on to call it “deeply un-American” and “deeply troubling.”
