Eric Holder charged with murdering rapper Nipsey Hussle in LA shooting

The suspect arrested in connection with the shooting death of Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle has been charged with murder by Los Angeles County prosecutors.

Eric Holder, no relation to the former attorney general, is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Police say the 29-year-old had a dispute with Hussle outside of the rapper’s clothing store in Los Angeles, then returned with a gun. Holder allegedly shot at Hussle multiple times, killing him and injuring two other people.

The charges could carry a penalty of life in prison, if Holder is convicted.

Holder pleaded no contest in 2012 to possession of a loaded firearm and was sentenced to three years of probation on top of six months in jail.

Holder was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in February, but lost to Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy.”
