Howard County?s first masjed, Dar Al-Taqwa will host an open community Iftar every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout Ramadan — a month-long fast during daylight that begins sundown Wednesday.
If you would like to sponsor an Iftar, an evening meal after sunset which break the daily Ramadan fasts, or participate in a group, contact Dar Al-Taqwa?s facility manager at [email protected]. Rosh Hashanah organized by Hebrew Congregation
The picturesque backdrop for Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars, organized by the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, will be Oregon Ridge Park on Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Participants are invited to bring a picnic dinner. Oregon Ridge Park is located at 13401 Beaver Dam Road in Cockeysville. Sundown on Sept. 12 marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year.

New Archbishop welcomes Cristo Rey Jesuit high school
The new Archbishop of Baltimore will preside at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School?s opening celebration on Thursday
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is a new independent school designed to prepare low-income students to enter and succeed in college. Students spend five days a month working at entry-level jobs throughout Baltimore. This Corporate Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to learn job skills in a corporate setting while earning money towards their education.
Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. inside Holy Rosary Catholic Church, adjacent to the school, in Fells Point on 408 S. Chester Street. The mass and following reception will be one of Archbishop Edwin O?Brien?s first public appearances in Baltimore since he was appointment on July 12.

The nonprofit Annapolis Chamber Players will present Windstories, a concert to benefit The Episcopal Refugee & Immigrant Center Alliance.
ERICA is an outreach ministry of Baltimore?s Cathedral of Incarnation. The program offers free assistance to refugees and immigrants in the Baltimore region. ERICA?s services include interest-free legal aid loans, crisis support and transitional aid, cross-cultural workshops to help newcomers navigate an unfamiliar culture, referrals to community service providers, free winter clothing and assistance with complex transactions such as renting an apartment.
The benefit concert will be Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. in the Peabody Room at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Tickets cost $50, and include hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The Cathedral is located at 4 E. University Parkway in Baltimore. Click here to learn more about the Players and ERICA.
