Hillary Clinton was all smiles as the female writers of Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” took turns writing her “thank you” notes on Wednesday.
Many of the notes focused on Clinton’s unsuccessful 2016 election run and her being a strong female figure, and some of the writers also took jabs at President Trump. It was part of a twist on Fallon’s weekly thank you note sketch with the same sappy keyboard music playing in the background.
Things got emotional when singer and actress Miley Cyrus appeared to share her thank you note with Hillary Clinton.
“Thank you Hillary for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women,” Cyrus said as her voice began to waver. “You’ve been a role model and an inspiration and a voice of reason in uncertain times. I could go on and on, but I’d like to get right to the point.”
She then asked Clinton for a hug, and before and after they embraced, Cyrus wiped tears.
Clinton also wrote a thank you note.
