CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police officers seized more than 3,200 firearms during the first half of the year.
Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy made the announcement Tuesday. He says the number shows the need for “stronger laws to keep illegal guns off” the city’s streets and “to punish the dangerous criminals carrying them.”
