Presidential candidate Andrew Yang released a new ad highlighting the lack of speaking time he was given during this week’s debate.
Yang, 44, a former entrepreneur, did not get a question in Wednesday night’s debate for over half-an-hour. He also had the shortest talking time at 6.9 minutes, trailing Tom Steyer, who, after Yang, talked the least by over a minute. Three candidates, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg all spoke more than five minutes more than Yang.
“We couldn’t wait for the November debate, but once it began … we still had to wait and wait … and wait … 32 minutes later,” flashed across the screen in the ad before airing his first answer. The ad then showed TheHill.tv’s Saagar Enjeti and Krystal Ball’s post-debate coverage in which they praised Yang.

Also on Thursday, Yang was interviewed on CNN by Wolf Blitzer, and the news anchor asked him about the debate.
Blitzer asked, “It went on for more than two hours. You only got to speak, and we did some checking, you can see over there, about six-and-a-half minutes or so. That’s probably half that some of the other candidates got. Do you think that was fair?”
Yang responded, “You know, Wolf, all I can say is I miss CNN moderating these debates.”
This clip was featured at the end of the Yang ad.
The presidential candidate stopped by his campaign’s watch party following the debate. He said at the event, “It felt like when the hell are they going to f–king call on me? The hypocrisy of MSNBC in a way just makes us stronger.”
