Trump rally nuns say it is their ‘joyful duty’ to support anti-abortion President Trump

The nuns who attended a Trump rally in Ohio called it their “duty” to support any anti-abortion president.

“There are indeed many issues concerning the quality of life that need to be addressed. However, the preeminent issue is the intrinsic evil of taking innocent human life through abortion,” the Children of Mary told the Washington Examiner. ”We, as faithful Catholics, consider it our duty, a joyful duty, to support a president, irregardless of party affiliation, who upholds the Gospel of Life.”

The nuns attended the president’s rally in Circleville, Ohio, on Saturday, which grabbed the attention of some in the media and others.

“The first thing they’ll do if they win this office, and I don’t think it’s going to happen based on everything I’m seeing, is they’re going to pack the Supreme Court with far-left judges who will eliminate your Second Amendment,” Trump said at the rally.

“And if you happen to be pro-life, you can forget that. You can forget that. They will change everything. They will change it,” he continued.

Trump has highlighted his commitment to anti-abortion issues, becoming in January the first president to speak at the March for Life. The president of the group said the Trump administration had been “consistent champions for life, and their support for the March for Life has been unwavering.”

At the march, Trump asked Congress to pass a bill “finally banning the late-term abortion of babies.” The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

In September, the president signed the Executive Order on Protecting Vulnerable Newborn and Infant Children. The order stated that the denial of medical treatment to a child who survived an abortion “or discouragement of parents from seeking such treatment for their children, devalues the lives of these children and may violate Federal law.”

On the other side of the aisle, Democratic nominee Joe Biden states in his campaign platform that he would rescind the Mexico City rule, which bars the United States government from funding abortions abroad, and restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
