Two Texas brothers were arrested and charged in the killing of their stepfather for sexually abusing their sister.
Alexandro and Christian Trevino, as well as their friend Juan Eduardo Melendez, beat 42-year-old Gabriel Quintanilla and left him to die Thursday in a field in McAllen, Texas, after learning that Quintanilla had inappropriately touched their 9-year-old sister at an RV park located on the 1200 block of E. Moore, according to KRGV.
“When brothers Alexandro and Christian Trevino found out, they became enraged and confronted Gabriel Quintanilla at the residence,” a Pharr Police Department news release read. “A physical fight ensued between the three and the victim Quintanilla left the location on foot.”
Police say three different assaults occurred, leaving Quintanilla severely beaten and suffering from head trauma, according to the news outlet.
“This investigation was complex having multiple scenes. I am proud of how our detectives were able to put the pieces together in such a short time,” Chief Andy Harvey of the Pharr Police Department said in a statement.
Alexandro Trevino, 18, was charged with aggravated assault (family violence) and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Christian Trevino, 17, was charged with aggravated assault (family violence), capital murder, and engaging in criminal activity.
Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18, was charged with capital murder, aggravated assault, and engaging in criminal activity.
