Pelosi: Trump was ‘unworthy to be president’ and a ‘stain on our country’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said former President Donald Trump was “unworthy” of being president.

“Donald Trump was a stain on our country,” the California Democrat told MSNBC’s Joy Reid on Tuesday night. “I don’t think we could have sustained our democracy if he had had two terms in office for what he was doing to our institutions or what he was doing to our Constitution.”

“He dishonored it,” she added. “He, in every respect, was unworthy to be president, did not respect the office that he held, and certainly did not respect the office that the rest of us hold as well.”

Pelosi added that she respects the office of the presidency more than Trump did and that it was “evident all along what a disgrace he was.”

Trump left the White House Wednesday morning, hours before President Biden was sworn into office around noon.

“We will be back in some form,” Trump said to supporters before boarding Air Force One.
