WHERE: West Baltimore, at 1900 Eagle Drive. The park is intersected by Franklintown Road and can be accessed from Winterbourne Road and Hilton Street.

INFO: Visit Chesapeake and Allegheny live steamers, a miniature train that offers rides for children and adults on the second Sunday of each month April through November.

 “I lived next to it for 25 years, before [the city] fixed it up with bike trails. It was a real wilderness then, filled with old cemeteries. I found a body there once, I’ll never forgot that day.”

WHERE: Assateague Island National Park is located on the Eastern Shore; the north entrance is at the end of Route 611, eight miles south of Ocean City.
