Multiple videos emerge of Mitt Romney being confronted by Trump supporters on plane and in airport

Sen. Mitt Romney was approached by a supporter of President Trump while sitting at the airport and was asked to explain why he wasn’t supporting Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election.

An off-camera woman approaches the Republican senator, a viral Twitter video shows, with Romney repeatedly asking the woman to put on her mask, citing local laws. The woman initially resists but eventually agrees because she “wants to have a chat” with Romney.

“Why aren’t you supporting President Trump,” the woman asks.

Romney explains that he does support the president on some issues, prompting the woman to ask if he is “going to support him in the fraudulent votes.”

“To overturn the election?” Romney asks. “No, I’m not.”

Romney refers the woman to a statement he released that said such challenges to the validity of the electors “dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic.”

“We have a Constitution, the constitutional process is clear,” Romney attempts to explain. “I’ll follow the Constitution, and I’ll explain all that when we meet in Congress this week.”

“Well, you haven’t supported him, and you didn’t even support him in the election,” the woman responds. “You were voted in as a conservative to represent the conservative constituents. Period.”

The woman then begins to raise her voice, prompting Romney to attempt to walk away from the situation. The woman follows while a man off camera tells Romney that “Trump is a juggernaut, your legacy is nothing.”

“You’re a joke. An absolute joke,” the woman adds. “It’s a disgusting shame.”

The video was the second to emerge of Romney’s trip to Washington, with another video posted to Twitter showing passengers on the plane chanting that Romney is a “traitor.”

“Resign, Mitt,” one woman yells.

“We love you, Mitt Romney,” a different passenger yells. “You’re great, you’re doing awesome.”
