The Democratic National Committee’s new lawsuit could potentially be “good news,” President Trump declared Friday evening, referring to what could be an opening to the organization’s server.
The positive outlook came in response to the DNC suing the Trump campaign, Russia, and WikiLeaks earlier in the day.
“Just heard the Campaign was sued by the Obstructionist Democrats. This can be good news in that we will now counter for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI, the Wendy Wasserman Schultz Servers and Documents held by the Pakistani mystery man and Clinton Emails,” Trump wrote on Twitter Friday.

The lawsuit alleges that the trio conspired to tip the scales of the 2016 election against Democrat Hillary Clinton.
In a statement from DNC Chairman Tom Perez, he said the president colluded with a “hostile foreign power” to better his chances of winning the contest. “During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign,” Perez said in a statement, according to the Washington Post.
Trump’s tweet redirected attention to a scandal surrounding former DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., who resigned following the leak of thousands of controversial DNC emails, some of which showed her efforts to help Clinton in the Democratic primaries.
He initially tweeted Wasserman Schultz’s name incorrectly, saying her first name was “Wendy,” and later deleted that tweet and replaced it with the correct name.
Trump also references Wasserman Schultz’s former IT staffer who was arrested last year by federal officials in July as he was attempting to flee the country to Pakistan amid the bank fraud scandal.
The former staffer, Imran Awan, and his wife were charged with “conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on a loan or credit application, and engaging in unlawful monetary transactions.”
