Report: Trump’s team reaches out to Justice Dept.

President-elect Trump’s transition team contacted officials at the Justice Department on Thursday, according to a Washington Times report published late Thursday.

DOJ spokesman Wyn Hornbuckle said the department “is now in contact with the president-elect’s transition representatives and will begin to brief those individuals.”

Trump’s team announced Wednesday evening in a press conference phone call that they were preparing to launch “landing teams” to handle the transition of the 15 federal agencies.

The State and Defense Departments also confirmed contact from Trump’s team on Thursday.

The Justice Department has not responded to a request for comment.
